Trustees

Aston Village Hall is managed by volunteers from the village, who are re-elected as trustees, every year, at a publicly held Annual General Meeting.

Aston and Weymouth Village Hall is a registered charity, number 503775 . Over the decades, scores of villagers have taken their turn in being responsible for ensuring the hall is operated in accordance with all regulations surrounding registered charities in the UK.

Trustees need to balance the needs of the community with the commercial reality of having to meet increasing costs and the need to maintain equipment and upgrade facilities.

Recently a more informal and flexible “Events Committee” has come together to organise community-run events such as coffee mornings, quiz nights, dances, barbecues and parties.

As “many hands make light work” we are always keen to welcome more helpers to the Events Committee, as well as ask more villagers to consider becoming a Trustee, as so many of their predecessors have done.
